As MEVI continued to grow in the precision engineering industry, it embraced the advancements in computerization to stay ahead. To support this expansion, the company relocated in 1988 to one of its current locations in Helmond, Netherlands, providing the space and resources needed for further development and innovation.

After nearly 30 years at the helm, Wies Colen passed the family business to the next generation. In 1995, Jacco and Fabine Colen took on the challenge of leading MEVI while staying true to the company’s core values: reliability, precision, and creativity.

Under their leadership, MEVI continued to grow—both professionally and geographically. The company expanded its international presence with the establishment of MEVI BE (Belgium), MEVI CZ (Czech Republic), and MEVI Engineering (Netherlands), offering comprehensive product lifecycle services and supply chain solutions.

As production automation gained momentum in the high-precision metalworking industry, MEVI took a significant step forward. In 2002, the company commissioned its first multi-pallet automated machining center, enhancing efficiency and enabling the precise manufacturing of micrometre-accurate components.

As the high-tech industry set increasingly strict requirements, MEVI implemented advanced manufacturing methods to ensure even higher levels of quality and cleanliness in module and system production. To meet these demands, a brand-new cleanroom was established, where the company successfully assembled its first Grade 1 product.

In 2014, MEVI proudly partnered with the Dutch Technology Week, an initiative designed to encourage young people to pursue a career in technology. The event focused on robotics and live demonstrations, sparking enthusiasm among future engineers. Since then, MEVI has continued to connect with young talent in various ways.

MEVI celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2017, marking half a century of engineering excellence. To support its growing engineering activities, the company expanded with a new, state-of-the-art facility in the Netherlands, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and development.

In 2019, MEVI’s supply chain management expertise was publicly acknowledged when the company received the Best Logistics Supplier Award from the esteemed magazine Link. The jury praised MEVI’s proactive supply chain management, ability to anticipate customer needs, and expert guidance for engineers. A key factor in this success? By 2022, MEVI had established itself as an international first-tier supplier, serving OEMs across high-tech industries. With over 100 highly skilled professionals, cutting-edge engineering tools, and four high-end production facilities, the company continues to push the boundaries of precision engineering.
